Long-form, straight onto your own site
A LinkedIn post disappears in two days. An article on your own domain is still answering the question in eighteen months, and it is the thing an answer engine can cite. The problem has never been which of the two to do. It is that the second one involves logging in somewhere else.
Connecting WordPress means the article you approved in Inklined lands on your site as a draft or a published post, with its categories, its tags and its image already attached.
Long-form is where recorded calls pay off twice, because an article carries what a post cannot. The method behind that is written up separately, with no product in it.
Connecting it
- 1In WordPress, open Users, then your profile, and scroll to Application Passwords. Give it a name you will recognise later and copy the password it generates. It is shown once.
- 2Your normal login password will not work. WordPress rejects it for anything outside the browser, and that is the most common reason a first connection fails.
- 3In Inklined, open Settings and add your site address, your WordPress username and that application password.
- 4Inklined tests the connection before saving it, so a wrong value tells you straight away rather than the first time you try to publish.
- 5Choose whether articles arrive as drafts or published. Draft is the sensible default until you have watched a couple land.
What Inklined takes
- →Articles, and only articles. A LinkedIn post has nowhere sensible to go on a blog, so Inklined will not send one.
- →The title, the body and the excerpt, as you approved them.
- →Categories and tags. One you have chosen that does not exist on the site yet is created rather than dropped.
- →The featured image, uploaded into your media library rather than hotlinked from somewhere else.
- →Scheduled articles go out on their own. A scheduler runs every five minutes and publishes anything whose time has passed.
What happens to it
The first thing that happens to a transcript is that the names come out of it. People become role descriptors, so a participant is stored as “Host [GTM Consultant]” rather than by name. Companies become sector descriptors, so a client called Acme Corp is stored as “a B2B SaaS startup”. Email addresses, phone numbers, office addresses and profile links are removed. This runs once, on the way in, before anything else touches the text.
What is left is split into passages and indexed, so that when Inklined asks you something tomorrow it can show you the 40 seconds of the call the question came from rather than asserting that you said it.
Then a second rule applies, and it is the one that matters most if your calls are client work. Only speech attributed to you can become something you publish. On a typical consulting corpus most of the words belong to the other person, and offering those back to you as “something you said” is how somebody ends up publishing a client’s thinking under their own name. Anything that still names an organisation after all that asks you to confirm before it will draft from it.
One limitation worth stating rather than hiding: a client name that opens a sentence is not always caught, because “Sona ran this play” is shaped exactly like “Pricing pages need an owner”. The title check is the reliable one, and the confirmation step exists because no automatic check is enough on its own.

When it does not work
A connection that authenticates and then returns nothing looks exactly like a healthy one, which is why WordPress going quiet is hard to diagnose from the outside.
- The connection is refused as soon as you save it
- Almost always the password. Application passwords are generated under Users, then your profile, and your normal login password is rejected for this kind of connection by design.
- A site on a local network or a private address will not connect
- Deliberate. Inklined refuses site addresses pointing at loopback, private or link-local hosts, because a server that will fetch any address you hand it is a security problem rather than a feature. A staging site has to be reachable on the public internet.
- The same article refuses to publish twice
- Also deliberate. A second attempt at something already published is recorded as a duplicate rather than creating a second post, so a retry after a timeout cannot quietly double-post.
- It published, but with no featured image
- The image is uploaded to your media library before the post is created. If your site rejects that upload, usually a file size or a permissions limit, the article still goes out rather than failing entirely. Check the media library first.
